Republic of Korea: Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation and Utilization of Artificial Intelligence (Act No. 21250) including interoperability requirement enters into force

On 1 July 2026, the Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation and Utilization of Artificial Intelligence (Act No. 21250) enters into force. The amendment revises Article 12 to extend standardisation obligations to industrial artificial intelligence. The provision covers interoperability, linkage between industrial data, joint use and sharing of platforms, alignment with international standards, mandatory compliance by government agencies, and corrective measures following compliance investigations.
