Republic of Korea: National Assembly adopted Bill on Partial Amendment to the Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation (Bill No. 2214589) including interoperability requirement

On 2 December 2025, the National Assembly adopted the Bill on Partial Amendment to the Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation (Bill No. 2214589). The amendment revised Article 12 to extend standardisation obligations to industrial artificial intelligence. The amended provision covers interoperability, linkage between industrial data, joint use and sharing of platforms, alignment with international standards, mandatory compliance by government agencies, and corrective measures following compliance investigations.
