Republic of Korea: Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation and Utilization of Artificial Intelligence (Act No. 21250) including organisational requirement enters into force

On 1 July 2026, the Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation and Utilization of Artificial Intelligence (Act No. 21250) enters into force. The amendment revises or newly introduces Articles 5, 6, 11, 15 to 19, 24-2, 26, and 27. These provisions establish organisational structures and processes, including the three-year Comprehensive Plan, fact-finding and diagnostic assessments, specialised companies, pilot projects, support centres, industrial artificial intelligence data centres, designated dedicated agencies, and approved associations.
