Republic of Korea: Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation and Utilization of Artificial Intelligence (Act No. 21250) including artificial intelligence authority governance enters into force

On 1 July 2026, the Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation and Utilization of Artificial Intelligence (Act No. 21250), including artificial intelligence authority governance, enters into force. The amendment revises Articles 6(3), 7, and 8 to rename the Industrial Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence Utilisation Committee and to expand its mandate. The provisions define the Committee’s composition and extend its deliberative and oversight functions to policies, plans, and implementation relating to industrial artificial intelligence.
