Republic of Korea: National Assembly adopted Bill on Partial Amendment to the Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation (Bill No. 2214589) including artificial intelligence authority governance

On 2 December 2025, the National Assembly adopted the Bill on Partial Amendment to the Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation (Bill No. 2214589). The amendment revised Articles 6(3), 7, and 8 to rename the Industrial Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence Utilisation Committee and to expand its mandate. The amended provisions define the Committee’s composition and extend its deliberative and oversight functions to policies, plans, and implementation relating to industrial artificial intelligence.
