Opened consultation on Cybersecurity Risk Management rules for Investment Advisers

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) opened a consultation on new Cybersecurity Risk Management rules for Investment Advisers. In particular, the proposal would require advisers and funds to: implement written policies that are designed to address cybersecurity risks, report relevant cybersecurity incidents to the SEC, increase the necessary disclosures related to cybersecurity risks and incidents, and maintain cybersecurity-related records. The consultation will close thirty days after publication of the proposed rules in the Federal Register or 11 April 2022, whichever is later.
