On 1 October 2025, the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations (MoCDTI) announced the conclusion of negotiations between the Government of Ghana, the National Communications Authority (NCA), and MultiChoice Africa following the investigation into MultiChoice Ghana over non-compliance with information disclosure obligations under the Electronic Communications Act. The Ministry stated that the Stakeholder Committee—comprising representatives of the MoCDTI, NCA, MultiChoice Africa, and MultiChoice Ghana—had completed its mandate to address DStv pricing and cross-border piracy. The Minister announced the establishment of a Working Group including the Ministry, NCA, Cyber Security Authority, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Domain Name Registry, National Information Technology Agency, and MultiChoice to develop a coordinated national response against illegal decoder imports. On pricing, MultiChoice Africa agreed to introduce an increased-value offer providing Ghanaian subscribers with 33–50% more content value depending on package tier, effective 1 October 2025. The Committee will reconvene quarterly to review implementation outcomes and maintain transparency in subscription pricing and service delivery.
