On 7 September 2025, the National Communications Authority (NCA) issued an update on DSTV pricing in Ghana, confirming receipt of MultiChoice Ghana’s response to the notice of intention to suspend its authorisation and the request for its pricing model under the Electronic Communications Act. The NCA stated that it is reviewing the operator’s submission while continuing engagements following MultiChoice Ghana’s public statement of 5 September 2025. According to the NCA, MultiChoice Ghana has agreed to the directive of the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations (MoCDTI) to establish a Stakeholder Committee tasked with evaluating DSTV’s pricing structure in Ghana and has confirmed its full participation in the Committee’s work. The outcome of the Committee’s assessment will be determined at the conclusion of its proceedings. The company further confirmed its commitment to due process and compliance with national laws. The NCA indicated that the first meeting of the Stakeholder Committee is scheduled for 8 September 2025 and that further updates will be issued upon completion of the review.
