Passage of bill including requirement of preinstallation of selected Russian software on certain devices
Law No 425-FZ is adopted in the Russian State Duma. The Law will now pass to the Federation Council for full adoption. The Law requires select technically complex, consumer-facing products to have preinstalled Russian software (a particular group of apps) before reaching the consumers market. For violating these requirements, the sellers face a fine. The Russian Software that should be pre-installed and the products to which the obligation should apply will be determined by a government Resolution.
