In force with grace period of bill including requirement of preinstallation of selected Russian software on certain devices
Law No 425-FZ comes into force with a grace period. The Law requires select technically complex, consumer-facing products to have preinstalled Russian software (a particular group of apps) before reaching the consumers market. For violating these requirements, the sellers face a fine. The Russian Software that should be pre-installed and the products to which the obligation should apply will be determined by a government Resolution. The Law will enter into full force from 1 January 2021.
