Adopted Amendment to Federal Law On Consumer Rights Protection (Law No 425-FZ) including pre-installation requirement for certain apps
On 1 April 2021, Law No 425-FZ came into force following the adoption of Decree No. 3704-r. The Law requires select technically complex, consumer-facing products to have preinstalled Russian software (a particular group of apps) before reaching the consumer market. The list is established by the presidential Decree. For violating these requirements, the sellers face a fine.
