On 20 October 2025, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MST) closed the public consultation, which had been open since 29 September 2025, on the Draft Law on Artificial Intelligence. The Draft Law establishes mandatory authorisation-type requirements for artificial intelligence systems through risk classification, conformity assessment and registration mechanisms. The Draft Law requires suppliers and importers to conduct self-assessment of the risk level of artificial intelligence systems before placing them on the market or putting them into operation under Article 12(1). It provides that artificial intelligence systems meeting criteria for high-risk classification must be submitted to a specialised state management agency for official classification decisions under Article 12(2) and (3). The Draft Law requires high-risk artificial intelligence systems listed by the Prime Minister to undergo pre-inspection and certification of conformity before being supplied or deployed under Article 16(1). It further requires that high-risk artificial intelligence systems be registered in the National Database on Artificial Intelligence before being put into use and updated where significant changes occur under Article 22(2).
