Competition and Markets Authority secured undertakings with Ticketmaster over Oasis concert sales

On 15 September 2025, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) secured undertakings from Ticketmaster under concerning the sale of Oasis tickets. The undertaking was secured under Part 8 of the Enterprise Act 2002 on enforcement of consumer legislation. The undertakings apply to Ticketmaster’s primary ticketing services directed at UK consumers, excluding Universe and TicketWeb where Ticketmaster does not itself sell tickets. Ticketmaster must provide transparency on fixed tier pricing, disclose models 24 hours in advance, and refresh price range information during sales. It must display clear information in virtual queues, explain security delays, and ensure ticket labels are accurate and not misleading. Ticketmaster must submit an implementation report before the rules take effect and six-monthly reports for two years covering events, queues, labels, and firewall delays. A compliance contact must be nominated. The undertakings must be implemented within 4–6 weeks, with CMA monitoring and possible court enforcement in case of breaches.
