Office of Communications opened investigation into Kick Online Entertainment's compliance with age assurance obligations under Online Safety Act

On 31 July 2025, the Office of Communications (Ofcom) opened an investigation into Kick Online Entertainment S.A. to assess the implementation of mandatory age assurance controls under the Online Safety Act. The investigation focuses on whether the provider has introduced highly effective age-check systems across its pornography services, as required by statutory provisions that came into effect on 25 July 2025. Kick Online Entertainment S.A. was selected for early enforcement due to the associated risk of harm and the extent of its UK user base, which contributes to a collective total of more than 9 million unique monthly UK visitors across the full set of 34 services under investigation.
