On 18 March 2025, the Bill mandating disclosure of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in political communications was passed by the Senate of North Dakota. The Bill mandates that any content created in whole or in part using AI to impersonate a human, whether visually or audibly, and used for a political purpose, including supporting or opposing candidates, political parties, or ballot measures must include the disclaimer that the content is generated by AI.
