Consultation closed on application of financial promotion order to cryptocurrencies

On 26 October 2020, the UK Treasury closed the consultation on its proposal to bring certain cryptoassets into the scope of the Financial Promotion Order. The aim of the proposal is to protect consumers by fighting against misleading advertising and lack of information surrounding the cryptoasset market. The consultation is parallel to the consultation on the regulatory approach to cryptocurrencies.
