Consultation opened on FCA rules implementing the application of the financial promotion order to cryptoassets
On 19 January 2022, the UK Financial Conduct Authority published a consultation paper on its proposed rules to implement the extension of the financial promotion order to qualified cryptoassets, which the UK Treasury announced as a consequence of its consultation on the matter. The consultation paper includes approaches to categorise cryptoassets and compliance duties for cryptoasset promotions, which must be clear, fair and not misleading. The FCA consultation is open until 23 March 2022.
