United Kingdom: Competition and Markets Authority initiated investigation into Keysight Technologies anticipated acquisition of Spirent Communications

On 4 September 2024, the United Kingdom Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) issued a statutory notice under section 109 of the Enterprise Act 2002 requiring Keysight Technologies to submit internal documents related to its positioning, navigation, and timing/Global Navigation Satellite Systems (PNT/GNSS) testing solutions. The request formed part of the CMA’s investigation into the anticipated acquisition of Spirent Communications by Keysight Technologies, following the submission of a draft merger notice on 17 July 2024. The information was requested to assess potential competition concerns arising from the proposed transaction.
