China: National Information Security Standardisation Technical Committee adopted standard on labeling method for content generated by artificial intelligence

On 14 March 2025, the National Information Security Standardisation Technical Committee (TC260) adopted the national standard titled "Labeling method for content generated by artificial intelligence". The standard describes methods for the identification of AI-generated and synthetic content across various formats such as text, images, audio, and video by AI service providers and content dissemination service providers. The standard encompasses methods for both explicit and implicit labelling of AI-generated content to ensure transparency and facilitate user recognition.
