China: Opened Consultation on Mandatory National Standard Labeling method for content generated by artificial intelligence

On 14 September 2024, the National Information Security Standardisation Technical Committee (TC260) initiated a public consultation for the draft mandatory national standard titled "Labeling method for content generated by artificial intelligence" open until 13 November 2024. This draft standard describes methods for the identification of AI-generated and synthetic content across various formats such as text, images, audio, and video by AI service providers and content dissemination service providers. The standard encompasses methods for both explicit and implicit labelling of AI-generated content to ensure transparency and facilitate user recognition.
