On 28 February 2025, the European Union (EU) and India adopted a joint statement following the Trade and Technology Council (TTC) second meeting, emphasised the importance of promoting global connectivity within a cyber-secure digital ecosystem. Both sides committed to strengthening the resilience of semiconductor supply chains and enhancing technological capabilities through sustainable, secure, and diversified semiconductor production capacities. They also agreed to collaborate on the implementation of the Global Digital Compact, adopted at the UN General Assembly in September 2024, to ensure a secure and inclusive digital environment. Additionally, efforts were made to bridge the digital skills gap and explore mutual recognition of certifications to foster a skilled workforce capable of addressing cybersecurity challenges.
