Singapore: Introduced Singapore Copyright Bill containing machine learning exception

On 6 July 2021, the new Copyright Bill is introduced to the Parliament of Singapore. The Bill would repeal and replace the current Copyright Act. In particular, Division 8 of the Bill would allow the use of copyrighted material for machine learning analysis and text mining purposes without the permission of the copyright owner, as long as the copyrighted works are accessed in compliance with the law.
