On 3 March 2020, the public consultation opened on the General Consumer Code of Practice for the Communications and Multimedia Industry until 16 July 2020. The code outlines acceptable standards for the communications and multimedia industry, providing a guide for consumers and a self-regulation framework for service providers. The code addresses fundamental principles, information for consumers, contractual terms, billing, credit practices, complaints handling, and administrative matters. It aims to ensure good service and fair outcomes for consumers and applies to all licensed service providers. Specific sub-codes may be developed to address industry-specific needs.
