Signed Bill Securing and Regulating the Digital Space including content moderation regulation

On 21 May 2024, the Bill Securing and Regulating the Digital Space was signed into law. The Bill transposes obligations outlined in the European Digital Service Act (DSA) and the Digital Markets Act (DMA) to align national laws with these regulations. The Bill requires social media platforms to suspend the accounts of individuals convicted of cyberbullying and delete content depicting child pornography within 24 hours, Holocaust denial, terrorism promotion, or the dissemination of violent images. Furthermore, platforms are prohibited from exposing minors to targeted advertisements. Targeting based on sensitive data such as gender, ethnic origin, political or religious beliefs, sexual orientation, and others will also be prohibited.
