France: Adopted Bill Securing and Regulating the Digital Space including data protection regulation

On 10 April 2024, the Bill Securing and Regulating the Digital Space, including unilateral conduct regulation, was adopted by the National Assembly. The Amendment aims to clarify the scope of applicability of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Law No. 78-17 to include data collected in France but handled by a non-EU data processor. The Amendment imposes the data protection obligations from the GDPR and Law No. 78-17 on all data processors of data gathered in France.
