Germany: Introduced Health Data Utilisation Act establishing Data Access and Coordination Office for Health Data

On 8 September 2023, the Health Data Utilisation Act establishing the Data Access and Coordination Office for Health Data was introduced to the German federal parliament. The Act would establish a Data Access and Coordination Office for Health Data at the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices. In particular, the Office will be tasked with maintaining a public metadata catalogue for transparency about available health data and identifying the respective data holders.
