Amended Audiovisual and Media Services Directive

The EU Audiovisual and Media Services Directive is amended by the European Parliament and the Council of the EU. In particular, the amendments extend certain audiovisual rules to video-sharing platforms and audiovisual content shared on social media services, introduce flexibility on restrictions applicable to TV, strengthen the promotion of European content, reinforce the protection of children and the measures to tackle hate speech, andenhance the independence of national regulatory authorities.
