Issued fine in FTC lawsuit against Day Pacer and EduTrek for misusing consumer contact information

On 31 January 2024, the US District Court Northern District of Illinois Eastern Division issued a fine in the lawsuit of the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) against Day Pacer and EduTrek for misusing consumer contact information. The court imposed a fine of USD 28.7 million in civil penalties for purchasing and illegally using consumer data to make unsolicited calls to customers and aiding other telemarketing companies in also making illegal calls. Further, the court issued a permanent ban on the defendants from any participation in telemarketing or giving assistance and facilitating others engaged in telemarketing.
