Description

National Commission for Data Protection published opinion on Bill 8309 implementing Digital Services Act in Luxembourg

On 19 January 2024, the National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD) of Luxembourg adopted its opinion on Bill 8309, implementing the Digital Services Act (DSA). The CNPD expressed concerns about the potential impairment of its independence by the time limits and procedures established in the draft law. It also discussed the need to be designated as the competent authority for certain articles of the DSA, arguing that this would allow for a more effective application of the DSA and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
