Description

Bill 8309 implementing Digital Services Act in Luxembourg was introduced to Chamber of Deputies

On 14 September 2023, the Bill 8309, implementing the Digital Services Act (DSA), was introduced to the Chamber of Deputies of Luxemburg. The Government Council has tasked the Competition Authority, which is already responsible for the Digital Markets Act (DMA), with enforcing the regulations outlined in the DSA. Following the Bill's approval by the Chamber of Deputies, the Competition Authority, acting as the coordinator for digital services, will oversee the adherence to obligations by intermediary service providers based in Luxembourg falling under the DSA. This affects approximately 240 online platforms. The European Commission retains its authority to monitor compliance, specifically for very large online platforms and very large online search engines.
