Announced Roskomnadzor new penalties against 12 hosting providers for violating local operational requirements
On 27 October 2023, the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) announced additional measures against 12 foreign hosting providers. The affected companies are Hetzner Online GmbH, Network Solutions, WPEngine, HostGator.com, Ionos Inc, DreamHost, FastComet, Amazon Web Services, GoDaddy.com LLC, Bluehost Inc, Kamatera Inc and DigitalOcean. More precisely, Roskomnadzor stated that these companies failed to register a personal account on Roskomnadzor's website, place a feedback form for Russian citizens and organisations, and establish an authorised representative office in Russia.Due to non-compliance with previous orders, the search engines may no longer show information about the websites of the companies.
