European Union: Announced new signatories to the Code of Practice on Disinformation

On 26 September 2023, the European Commission announced that the Code of Practice on Disinformation signatories delivered new reports and new signatories joined. The four new signatories are Alliance4Europe, Newtral, EFCSN, and Seznam. The second round of reports on the implementation of the Code of Practice on Disinformation has been submitted by online platform signatories, which include Google, Meta, Microsoft, and TikTok. The reports that platforms have to submit will have to include safeguards against generative AI systems that may disseminate disinformation and structural indicators, which measure the prevalence and sources of disinformation.
