Introduced law for the protection of children and adolescents in digital environments (Bill 2628/22) including content moderation regulation

On 18 October 2022, the Law for the protection of children and adolescents in digital environments (Bill 2628/22) was introduced in the Brazilian Senate. The Bill would require platforms to remove content that explicitly targets children and offensive content upon notification and ban advertising addressed specifically to children. Furthermore, the online platforms with over 1 million registered child users will be required to issue semi-annual reports on the removed content.
