Adopted Bill No. 10744-8 amending Article 56-2 of the Federal Law on Communications including data sharing requirements

On 15 March 2023, the Federal Council adopted Bill No. 10744-8, amending Article 56-2 of the Federal Law on Communications, including data sharing requirements. In particular, the Bill requires technological communication network providers to store data regarding the transmission, delivery and processing of voice information, text messages, images, video, sounds or other electronic messages and on the interaction of users of information systems or programs for electronic computers operating in networks, data on the owners of autonomous system numbers for 3 years and provide the data upon request of state authorities for investigative purposes. The Bill enters into force on 1 September 2023.
