Adopted Second Law amending the Youth Protection Act including service access restrictions
On 26 March 2021, the Second Law amending the Youth Protection Act, including service access restrictions, was adopted by the German Parliament. In particular, the Law requires online service providers with over 1 million users in Germany to implement technical measures to enable age verification for user-generated audiovisual content that was self-rated as appropriate for users over 18 years. The Law enters into force on 1 May 2021.
