China: Introduced Cybersecurity Law including content moderation regulation

On 24 June 2015, the Cybersecurity Law has been introduced to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China at the 15th Session of the Standing Committee of the 12th National People's Congress. The law makes individuals and organisations responsible for their use of websites, prohibits the establishment of websites for illegal purposes, and requires network operators to prevent the transmission of and delete illegal content posted or shared by their users.
