China: Adopted Plan for Promoting IPv6 Technology Evolution and Application Innovation and Development

On 24 April 2023, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, alongside 6 departments, jointly issued the "Implementation Opinions on Promoting IPv6 Technology Evolution and Application Innovation and Development". The plan aims to achieve by the end of 2025 significant results in network technology innovation and expand the scope of innovative technologies such as "IPv6+". The plan outlines goals regarding integrating "IPv6+" in key industries and increasing infrastructure and security capabilities. In particular, the plan outlines 15 actions, including building an IPv6 evolution technology system, strengthening the industrial foundation, accelerating infrastructure development, deepening integration and application of "IPv6+" and artificial intelligence and improving security assurance capabilities.
