European Union: Adopted EDPB Version 2 of Guidelines 01/2022 on the right of access of data subjects

On 28 March 2023, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) adopted the "Guidelines 01/2022 on data subject rights - Right of access". The Guidelines explain the scope of the right of access under Articles 8 and 15 of the GDPR, general principles of the right of access, general considerations regarding the assessment of access requests, the scope of the right of access and the personal data to which it refers, how controllers can provide access, and limits and restrictions to the right of access.
