Turkiye: Implemented Personal Data Protection Act including business registration requirement

On 7 October 2016, the Personal Data Protection Act, including a business registration requirement, was implemented. The Act require entities processing personal data to register with the Data Controllers' Registry before starting their activities. Furthermore, the Act specifies that the Personal Data Protection Board would have the power to provide derogation from the registration requirement with the Data Controllers' Registry.
