Turkiye: Introduced Personal Data Protection Act including business registration requirement

On 26 December 2014, the Personal Data Protection Act, including a business registration requirement, was introduced in the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye. The Act would require entities processing personal data to register with the Data Controllers' Registry before starting their activities. Furthermore, the Act specifies that the Personal Data Protection Board would have the power to provide derogation from the registration requirement with the Data Controllers' Registry.
