Netherlands: Announced export controls on semiconductor manufacturing equipment

On 8 March 2023, the Dutch government announced that it will introduce new export controls on advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The measure aims to prevent Dutch goods from being used for undesirable ends such as in military applications or weapons of mass destruction, to prevent long-term strategic dependencies, and to maintain Dutch technological leadership. The specific regulations will be published before the summer.
