Implemented Executive Order 24 Banning the Use of Certain Applications and Websites on State Government Technology

On 31 December 2022, Executive Order 24, Banning the Use of Certain Applications and Websites on State Government Technology, was implemented. The Order requires TikTok, WeChat and any other applications developed by ByteDance Limited or Tencent Holdings Limited to be uninstalled and prohibits access to them through the State network. Additionally, any contractors or partners working with the State of Virginia must comply with the Order.
