Closed consultation on Rules for platform operators' response to illegal and harmful information

On 26 January 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications closed the consultation on the Rules for platform operators' response to illegal and harmful information such as slander. The rules would require transparency and a proactive stance by providers. Platforms would be required to publish their content moderation policies, including measures taken and complaint handling. Proactivity would be required in preventing infringing information, especially by repeat-offender accounts, and addressing deletion requests.
