United States of America: Adopted Executive Order 23-06 to Protect State Information and Communications Technology from the Influence of Adversarial Foreign Governments

On 10 January 2023, the Governor of the State of Arkansas signed Executive Order 23-06 to Protect State Information and Communications Technology from the Influence of Adversarial Foreign Governments. The Executive Order requires the Office of State Procurement (OSP) and the Division of Information Systems (DIS) within 30 days to implement Guidance requiring all State Executive Agencies to delete TikTok from state devices. Additionally, future installation of TikTok and access to it through state networks must be blocked. The OSP and the DIS will oversee the implementation of the Order and will be required to complete a review of any communication software or other materials that might pose a risk to Arkansas.
