Japan: Closed consultation on Intellectual Property Strategic Plan 2023

On 7 April 2023, the public consultation closes on the Japanese Cabinet Office's Intellectual Property Strategy Promotion Secretariat Intellectual Property (IP) Strategic Plan 2023. The priorities of the proposed Plan include developing an IP ecosystem to support the development of startups, IP standards setting, and development of a content strategy in face of growing digitalisation. The content strategy refers to reforms in the existing copyright system to suit increasing digitalisation, building a digital archive system, and strengthening anti-piracy and counterfeit goods measures.
