Announced Reserve Bank and DFCRC Research Project Exploring Use Cases for CBDC

On 2 March 2023, the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Digital Finance Cooperative Research Centre (DFCRC) announced use cases, along with their providers, which have been selected and invited to participate in a live pilot, part of the joint research project, to explore potential risks and benefits of CBDC in Australia. A report on the project is expected to be published around the middle of the year.
