Description

Adopted Delegated Regulation on methodology for calculating the supervisory fee implementing Digital Services Act (Article 43)

On 2 March 2023, the European Commission adopted the Delegated Regulation on methodology for calculating the supervisory fee implementing Digital Services Act (Article 43). The Delegated Regulation outlines the methods the Commission will apply to calculate the individual fees that the very large online platforms and search engines will be required to pay to cover the Commission's supervisory work. The entities will be required to pay the fee annually after being designated as very large platforms. In particular, the Delegated Regulation stipulates that the fee will not exceed 0.05% of the very large platform or engine's global annual net income in the last financial year. The Delegated Regulation now goes to the Council and European Parliament, if the institutions don't issue any objections in 3 months, the Regulation will enter into force.
