Description

Closed consultation on Registration Requirements in Draft Telecommunication Law

On 27 December 2022, the Draft Telecommunication Law was opened for public consultation from 27 October 2022. For telecom service providers, registration information is required to be submitted, but only through the form that is to be licensed. Any foreign telecom service provider with users in Vietnam is required to enter into a commercial agreement with a local service provider. To achieve that, registration requirements obligate local firms to register the commercial agreement with the relevant agency. This is to ensure that the local service provider has the required technical protocol to uphold information security, conduct preventive emergency situations, and block certain services if required to do so by the relevant agency.
