United Kingdom: Opened consultation on software cybersecurity

On 6 February 2023, the UK Government published a policy paper on software cybersecurity intending to create a more secure digital environment and opened a public consultation until 1 May 2023. The consultation is aimed at gathering information on software risks and cyber threats and the measures and practices implemented by businesses to create a secure software ecosystem. The information provided by stakeholders would be used by the UK Government to better mitigate the cyber risks involved with software. According to the UK government, the cybersecurity of software is especially relevant considering the fragmented nature of the development of software, with many actors involved in the production and design of the software.
