On 30 January 2023, the public consultation closed on the draft guidelines for sharing and disclosure of information on damage from cyberattacks issued by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). The guidelines aim at standardising the language and content of disclosures concerning the effects of cyberattacks in order to encourage organisations to share more relevant details related to the cyberattacks without fearing reputational damage.
